    He started his tennis career as a junior player participating in open junior tournaments at the age of 12. He won several tournaments in both the U/14 and U/18 categories. He represented the Pick Army Tennis Team at the inter services tennis tournament within the MLTA. He represented Malta in the Mediterranean Games namely in Tunisia (1967), Turkey (1971) and Algeria (1975). He is among the first Maltese to obtain a win for Malta in an international tournament where he beat a Tunisian player in the singles men’s plate in the 1967  Mediterranean Games.

    He was national doubles champion [with Eddie Delicata] and mixed doubles champion [with R Mizzi] in 1968, and again mixed doubles champion [with Honor Incorvaja] in 1972. In 1976 he started couching after attending a course and helped the running of group couching schemes at MSC. He coached tennis at St Edward Collage. In 1981 he started playing as a senior player and won singles and doubles and mixed doubles titles. In 1983he  won the national tennis league cup and Fiteni knock out competition
