Kinder Joy of moving | Presentation at Marsa Sports Club

The Marsa Kinder Joy of Movement event held at the Marsa Sports Club came to its conclusion earlier today.
A good entry of 35 participants took part in this popular junior event where the emphasis is on fair play.
The level of play was quite amazing and every participant gave their all to make this tournament a very keenly contested one.


In the boys U10 category Gianluca Pace came up against long time rival Kurt Bonnici. The first set was keenly contested but Gianluca was more solid and won it 4-3(6) with a tie break. Gianluca continued playing superbly to win the second set and the match 4-1.


In the boys U12 category Cosmo de Trafford came up against Alexander Zammit. After a slow start Alex started playing better and won the first set 6-3. Cosmo put up a strong reaction and managed to win the match by winning the second set 6-4 and the championship tie break 13-11.


Chloe Kuijt and Pippa Cutugno contested the girls U10 final. Chloe was in superb form and quickly wrapped up the first set 4-1. Pippa showed all her fighting abilities and managed to tie the match by winning the second set 4-2. The match went to the championship tie break which Chloe won 12-10.


Maryia Magro played against Julia Perera Vega in the Girls’ U12 event. Although the much improved Julia put up a good fight Maryia was stronger on the day and won the match 6-3; 6-2.


The tournament referee, Stephen Caruana, congratulated all the players involved for the level of play and particularly for the sporting spirit shown throughout the whole event. Well done to everyone involved!
