If you’re taking your first steps to competing in tennis we want to make sure you have the information you need.
The MTF is dedicated to making tennis available to players of all ages, whatever your standard and ability, whether you are new to tennis or play in club competitions.
Our National Coaching Team oversees an all-encompassing competition structure from Under 10s, through to all ages to national level and international events.
When you are ready to start playing in tournaments run or overseen by the MTF you will need to apply for a Malta Tennis Membership number. Your unique Malta Tennis Membership number is your passport to play in competitions.
The number is important because it is used to identify players and makes sure your results are processed accurately when we calculate your MTF Rating and your future ability classification.
Classification and rankings are two different ways of measuring a player’s ability and performance in competitions.
To apply for Malta Tennis Membership please visit the Membership area of our website. Here you will be able to download a form to send in.
In the future, you will also be asked to fill in a simple questionnaire which we will use to set your initial rating.
Once you are registered with the MTF, then you are able and welcome to participate in various tournaments organised by the MTF. Such tournaments offer a challenge and bring another layer of enjoyment to your game. The MTF offers a variety of competitions, ranging from the Junior National Championships to local club competitions. We organise and oversee these tournaments, which take place throughout the winter and summer seasons.
On our site we have details about many of the tournaments and programmes that are organised by and on behalf of the MTF.
We welcome you to explore our site for further information.
