The final day regaled the good crowd present to some exciting tennis

Claude Camilleri Bonici played superbly to impose his aggressive tennis against Adam Zammit in the Boys’ U16 event to win comfortably.

In the Boys’ U12 event Gianluca Pace and Kurt Bonnici battled it out and as happens often the match between them was a close affair. Kurt started better and won the first set but Gianluca kept believing and managed to win the second set on a tie break .

This gave him the confidence and momentum to win the third set rather comfortably.

The girls’ U12 event saw Stella Skodacek facing the rapidly improving Pippa Cutugno. The girls produced some fine rallies to the delight of those present. Stella proved the most consistent however, to win it 6-3; 6-3.

The last match of the day saw Maxine Soler and Nina Busuttil locking horns in the Girls’U10 Consolation Event.

Maxine started the stronger and raced to win the first set convincingly. Nina reacted quite well and the exchanges were keenly contested in the second set but Maxine found that little bit extra to clinch it 5-3.

A big well done goes to all the players for their efforts and commitment. They should also be commended for the excellent sporting spirit prevailing throughout.

The club also wishes to thank the sponsor, Boston Link for their continuous support. A special mention also goes to Mr Lino Scicluna, Tournament Director and to Mr Stephen Caruana, referee, for their efforts in organising a very successful event.
